Improbable Players will take center stage and perform Smoke & Mirrors via Zoom. Attendees don't need to register and can simply join the Zoom link.
Smoke and Mirrors uses satire, clowning, and humor to skewer commonly held misconceptions about Substance Use Disorder. Our main scene ‘Growing Up Vaper’ gives myths and facts about vaping, and how to detect vaping behaviors. Smoke and Mirrors also covers topics like: opioid use, excuses, appearance and peer pressure.
About Improbable Players
To set the stage for prevention by educating the public about addiction and recovery through dramatic performances and theater workshops - presented by actors who are in long-term recovery from Substance Use Disorder - that help people recognize situations in their own lives and seek the help they need.
Improbable Players' performances are 30-45 minutes long followed by a talkback/Q&A. Our workshops give students the space and tools to combat social pressures and find coping strategies that work for them. Their plays are based on true stories and performed by people in recovery. Improbable Players have touring troupes in New England, NY & NJ, and OH! Learn more...
