Meet Our Speaker: Shelia Sales
There’s no better way to understand the Heartland Difference than hearing from someone who makes it happen every day. As Heartland’s lead teacher, Shelia Sales works directly with our students, witnessing firsthand the impact of a recovery-focused education. She will share insights on how Heartland supports students academically and emotionally, helping them build a brighter future.
Shelia is more than an educator—she is a social entrepreneur, youth advocate, and community leader. Throughout her career, she has worked tirelessly to support young people’s development, collaborating with organizations such as Homeless For Families and F.A.C.C.E.S. She is also the founder of Feniks Foundation, a nonprofit committed to empowering youth, and the leader of Bennu Health and Wellness, a social-emotional learning platform for young people. Since joining Heartland in 2021, Shelia has played a crucial role in shaping our academic and recovery programs, ensuring that students receive the guidance and support they need to thrive. Shelia is a resident of Columbus, Ohio and is the mother of two outstanding sons.
